In June 2023, the Society for Personality Assessment (SPA) Board of Directors approved the creation of the John R. Graham Award for Distinguished Mentorship in Personality Assessment in honor of John R. (Jack) Graham, Ph. D. (1940-2022). Jack was a faculty member in the Department of Psychology at Kent State University (KSU) from 1968 until his retirement in 2015. Jack's academic contributions to Personality Assessment, in general, and to MMPI research, in particular, were substantial, but he considered his most significant contributions to be the Psychologists he helped train and whose careers he helped launch. We are honored that the SPA Board has agreed to create this new award in Jack's honor, and we need your assistance to raise enough funds to endow this award in perpetuity to honor Jack's legacy.
